2025 Quilting 101
Registration: $50 per session plus kit purchased from HCQ required
Dates: Session 1:Jan 2, Feb 6, March 6
Session 2: April 3, May 1, June 5
1030-130pm (First Thursday of the Month)
This is the perfect class if you are completely new to quilting! Or if you just want to make a beautiful quilt and get a refresher on lots of basic quilting skills!
We will be meeting the 1st Thursday of each month, 10:30 am- 1:30 pm with 15-30 min break if needed, 3 sessions per project. January - March project is the Chop Suey quilt. Students can choose one of 4 different colored kits.
New/different project to run each quarter, yet TBD.
1st class: Pattern and fabric layout, cutting, piecing blocks.
2nd class: Piecing blocks, problem solving, layout of blocks strategies, borders.
3rd class: Backs and battings, making quilt sandwich, simple quilting of the layers, binding the edges.

SUPPLY LIST:
Students to purchase & bring chosen kit, sewing machine, 1/4" foot(if you have one) cutting mat, 6"x 24" ruler, small 1" x 6" ruler, rotary cutter, fabric scissors, thread nippers, pins or clips, thread, seam ripper, fabric marker or chalk.
